Planning
When yachting journalist and publisher Phil Draper first approached Spring three years ago with the idea of the world’s first online publication in his industry, we worked with him to research suitable platforms, trialling the industry leaders before settling on Z mags. Our planning team also reviewed brands that occupied the same marketplace as Yachtbuilder International, and built a brief for design, layout and functionality around our findings.

 

Creative
Our creative approach is fine tuned to fit round the functionality of the magazine, with design supporting written, photographic and video content. As the publication grows, we continue to review and adapt our creative approach to maximize useability.

 

Application
YI is a great success, with over 220,000 page-views per issue and healthy advertising revenues. The recession may well have been the best time to launch this all-digital B2B media platform. Draper keeps up regular contact with his audience and advertisers at boat shows across the world, feeding content back to the Spring studio to develop across publications.
