Planning
Newly appointed Saint Felix Headmaster Dr Simon Letman doesn’t anything by halves. So it was entirely in character for him to appoint Spring as his ‘out of house’ marketing department – a bold move in the public school arena. He tasked us with setting the strategy for the forthcoming year and running all activities.

Our initial goals are to increase awareness of the Saint Felix vision, to increase consideration and awareness of Saint Felix by the target audience. And our suggested strategy for marketing Saint Felix has been quite simply to bring ‘Learning for Life’ to life.

The marketing plan hinges on a calendar of events that actively demonstrate the seven pillars of Learning for Life; Communication, Questioning,

 

Leadership, Perseverence, Creativity, Having Fun, Risk-taking and Working Together.

Creative
Almost every month a new event will take place; a video competition to showcase communication, a debate to highlight questioning, a swim around Southwold Pier to demonstrate perseverance.

The Spring team will use a mix of print advertising, digital marketing, PR and direct marketing to promote these – driving awareness of Saint Felix, of the Learning for Life vision and therefore consideration of Saint Felix by parents.

A news blog and Facebook group have been set up in preparation for launch in January and printed materials are now in production.

 

Application
At the time of writing these are early days for the Saint Felix marketing plan, but the pupils are eagerly discussing the video competition that will launch in January and we have already begun recruitment of ‘celebrity’ panelists for the Feburary debate. Still more promising are the interviews we have already secured for Dr Letman in local press.
