Planning
Durrants allowed us to combine our board directors’ extensive experience of property marketing with Spring’s portfolio in East Anglian heritage family-owned brands. From our experience of working with national agency, land and auction brands such as Hamptons and FPD Savills, we were able to establish a clear position for Durrants within the regional marketplace with ease.

Our positioning for the company settled on its history. In a world sunk in the gloom and fear of recession, especially in the property market, Spring’s view was that Durrants’ track record of proving a safe and reliable service to home buyers and sellers, agricultural and auction clients, was their best proof of quality. So we simply tagged them: since 1861 – and built a brand around the position.

 

Creative
Spring’s creative approach was to develop an ID that would give Durrants longevity, using a classic British racing green and a neat, clean Serif font to display the ‘D’ in a recognizable way across applications like shop fascias, swing signs and advertising

Colour coding makes the different areas of the company easy to spot for consumer, and also allows us the license to shake things up a bit, creatively.

Whatever Spring did, the work has to be informative and clear, so on elements like agents’ boards we steered clear of anything gimmicky, creating a legible and easily adaptable layout.

Our Information Architecture for the website took

 

into account a range of users and allowed the site to plug into existing systems for auction catalogues and estate agency.

Application
We provided Durrants with an extensive brand handbook, allowing them to use repro houses, sign companies and other suppliers efficiently whilst maintaining brand integrity. This includes press and on line ads, auction catalogues, signboards, office fit outs, vehicles and a wide variety of other applications.

Every quarter we review progress with the directors of Durrants and step in where needed to tweak items or supply additional artwork, ensuring they are secure that the brand is being upheld.
